I Love My Loom

From Each Day....
My loom.
I love my loom.
My relationship with the loom is very sporadic though. It always takes me a long time to get a warp on it so when I do get it loaded I want it FULL! i hate to warp it. YUCK! It takes forever.
So wouldn't ya know that I finally got a new warp on it and I have to move it.
It needs to go to North Carolina.

It is BIG. It does not fit through a doorway.

From Each Day....
The moving company came and assessed our house for the packing to determine just how much time they would need to pack and load our possession.

They also need to crate a few items and one of them is the loom.

From Each Day....
Guess how much they wanted to charge my husbands company to crate the loom.

Are you ready?

Here ya go....$2000.00!

I almost choked after I got done laughing at the rediculous amount. The darn thing is only worth $700.00, maybe.

Martha does not care. Just as long as she gets to go with us and we take this darn cone off her head.
Sorry, babe....the cone stays.
From Each Day....

See what I mean? Full warp. I had better get moving and get some rugs made.
From Each Day....

Heard a rumor that sock ends were going to become obsolete.  It is a good thing I have bins and bins of them in my garage. I actually think they multiplying the longer they sit out there.
From Each Day....

I am only allowing myself to weave the sock ends (loopers). I have got to get rid of them.
They are well traveled loopers though. They orginated in Kentucky and shipped to Virginia Beach VA. My husband and I have moved them from Virginia to North Carolina to Michigan to Virginia and will be making thier final move back to North Carolina.

I promise Bob. We won't move them again.

Bob? STOP LAUGHING!

Cone of Shame

From Each Day....

She looks like she has lost her best friend.
Life is so horrible.
Just pitiful I say.

Actually she is doing MUCH better, but hard to tell by this picture.

The swollen gums are gone and you can actually see her bottom teeth again.
The limp has disappeared and she is running and jumping, especially when it comes to dinner time.
She stills smells "neutral" which I guess is good for a dog.
Ears are clear.

All is good except the spots on her elbows. Cannot seem to get them to clear up hence the "Cone of Shame". It keeps her from licking which keeps her from scratching which prevents the blood from getting all over my house.

I have put a call into the vet for a miracle cure. I have been trying anti fungal and anti-itch cream but I think it is time to pull out the big guns.

If anyone has a suggestion I am open to hear it. There are pictures of her elbows under the BARF diet....

And as ALWAYS, thanks so much for visiting.
It makes me smile!

Sunday Morning

Sunday mornings are thankfully, usually quiet.
We sleep late. Bob and I that is. The boys are usually up around 7:30. Generally they are pretty quiet.
We usually don't see the whites of Sophia's eyes until about noon.

From Each Day....
We brew a pot of coffee and wallow in it while watching Sunday Morning.
I love the trumpet in the opening music.
So clear and sharp.

From Each Day....

This morning though Carter started plucking the guitar. My old guitar from when I was his age. When I was about 10, I don't really remember how old I was, my dad bought me the guitar at Schmidt Music at the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, MN. I started lessons from a guy in a black blazer and red hair tied back in a ponytail. His name was/is Cheech. I remember him always having loose red hair stuck to that black wool jacket. To this day all I can think of is Cheech and Chong. I was very intimidated by him. He seemed very weird to me and not what you ran into in my VERY conservative world of northern Minnesota.
From Each Day....
I remember the leaders in my youth group playing the guitar and I wanted to play like them. You know what I am talking about...KUMBIA around the camp fire at the lake. For some reason my playing never sounded like theirs. I guess I needed more than the dozen or so lessons I received.

From Each Day....

Carter had my old books out and was playing my guitar that was terribly out of tune.

From Each Day....
Bob grabbed his guitar and they tuned it up and had a mini lesson.

From Each Day....

I love listening to the sound of acoustic guitar but I love listening to my family on Sunday morning.
From Each Day....
Especially with the rain that has been never ending.

From Each Day....
And watching Carter concentrate so hard, working the tongue inside his cheeks. His dad does the same thing when he is really concentrating.
From Each Day....
Carter also wants to play the violin. He asked me a few months ago.
From Each Day....

I have started to put off the "oh my gosh, the kids are interested in xyz lets run out and get them lessons." If they keep asking about it months after the first time they bring it up I will start looking into it.
From Each Day....

Carter reminded me again today that he wants to play the violin.

From Each Day....

That and Karate.

From Each Day....

Wish he would play the piano or guitar or flute...I have those instruments.
From Each Day....

Maybe if his dad takes guitar lessons with him he would like that.

From Each Day....

I just need to make sure there is not Cheech giving the lessons.

From Each Day....

Work the tongue Carter. Stick with the guitar.

Little Wobbly Legs

From Each Day....

Last week I was heading out to the ranch to take more pics of bulls and ran into Jeremy as he was heading out to feed this new calf. The calf was not eating and had a herniated umbilical cord. Hopefully by him bottle feeding him he will get stronger.

Momma was keeping a close eye on him though.

From Each Day....
He was not wanting to eat, kind of resisted the bottle.
From Each Day....

From Each Day....
When Jeremy first said he was going to give the calf a bottle I had a different image in my mind. It did not involve a long tube.

Momma finally realized that Jeremy was OK, that he was not hurting the calf.

The rest of the herd started getting a little curious though, coming in closer to check things out.

From Each Day....
I would love to see this lttle guy running around the next time I am out at the ranch.

WAKE UP!

From Each Day....

What? I am sleeping here.

From Each Day....
Seriously. If you are not going to feed me go away.

From Each Day....

I am ignoring you.

From Each Day....

I must sleep.

From Each Day....

I have not slept all day, I am tired. Go away.
What a bunch of lazy bones. If they heard the rustle of a food bag they would be up and running to the kitchen. Lazy I say, Lazy!
