Aubusson Blue Dresser

 Aubusson Blue, Oh Aubusson Blue.
You are my new favorite.
So soft.
When I add the dark wax to you your distressed edges you compliment each other so nicely.
Paired with the Cocoa you are so lovely.

OK, well I know you are going to be absolutely amazed at where I picked up this piece.
 It is somewhere different.
I have never found a piece of furniture there before.
I was surprised to find it.
Never expected it.
Was not prepared, I didn't have the truck.
The Goodwill on Hendersonville Road.
I know, crazy right?
I like to live on the edge.
I am not as crazy about that this store.
Items are usually priced too high and the employees are not as friendly.
But that is just my opinion.
On to the dresser...

This guy had a little veneer damage that needed repair but the best part was that it had all the original hardware and I just loved it.
Loved the detail of the metal work.
Loved that I did not have to spend another $25.00 on hardware.
I brought him to Bittersweet and I believe that as we speak he is on his way to Tennessee for a forever home.

Thanks for visiting.
I hope you will come back?
I would like to see you again.
I have a lot of furniture that I have finished up and am getting ready to post about them.
I will have time since I am on vacation.
Until tomorrow, because now I must go make a Bloody Mary because it is 12:01 and I am on vacation!

Linking up to!

  1. Beautiful! I've been meaning to try this color forever... I need to! Great job, love the dark wax with it too.

    1. I really liked it. I don't like how my pictures make the was look so uneven but really a great color.

  2. This blue is simply gorgeous Krista and you must know that blue isn't one of my favorite colors. This is just beautiful and seriously, when are you going to go into business selling your refinished furniture? I know you could make a fortune!!!
Enjoy your vacation! Love Di ♥

    1. HI Honey!
I have actually rented a place at Bittersweet in Asheville. Hopefully it will pay off.

  3. Where is Bittersweet? I googled and can't find it.

  4. I too am in love with this ASCP color, and totally feel you on the mean Goodwill workers. I'm always so nice, but it never fails; someone is just plain foul to me when I go there.

I'll send you a latte if you can help me with a a couple of questions:-) You mentioned Cocoa. Did you use Cocoa? If so, did you use it as a dry brush on top, as the base color, or as 'mix-in' color to change the hue of the Aubusson? Also, did you use only dark wax (without a base of clear) on the drawer fronts so that it didn't wipe all the way off? If so, it's ah-maze-ZING, and now has opened the door for me to cast away my fear and do the same! Thanks for your reply in advance!

    1. Brooklyn, Did you ever get a reply regarding exact technique of this piece? It’s gorgeous, I want to try this on a bureau that looks similar. I don’t dare try without details.
